Opcare provides Orthotic Services and works with the NHS to provide this essential facility in NHS clinics. We look after more than 80,000 NHS orthotic patients and, in doing so, we employ Orthotists, Technicians and Administrators in centres throughout the UK.
We offer a complete range of orthotic care, seeking the most appropriate solution to match the patient’s needs. A growing number of patients with complex, short or long term conditions and rehabilitative needs rely on this service to enhance their mobility and improve their quality of life.
Orthotists provide care for anyone requiring a device to support or control part of the body (orthosis). At Opcare, our clinicians use the latest technology to assist in the prescription of knee or back braces, orthopaedic footwear, and insoles (orthotics) and other support products. They often work together with other experienced clinicians such as orthopaedic consultants and can form part of a multi-disciplinary team looking after the sometimes complex needs of the patients.
Several biomechanical problems may affect the feet which can lead to many other orthopaedic problems. Back pain may be related to problems with your feet that require treatment – your body is an interconnecting system, and it may be necessary to treat one part of the body to solve a problem with another part.
Our clinics are based in NHS Hospitals, schools for children with special needs, GP practices and community hospitals.
Our highly skilled Orthotists are supported by our senior management team based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. We work to the international medical quality standard ISO 13485, which is specific to medical devices and related services to meet both patient and regulatory requirements. We treat and relieve pain for an array of medical conditions.
